About this job

Drives truck over established route to deliver vending products and render services, collects money from customers, and makes change by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

General:
  • Establishes good rapport with service location employees to ensure customer satisfaction through verbal communication and provide excellent service.
  • Drives truck to deliver soft drinks, and vending products to business and industrial locations.
  • Checks for outdated merchandise and fill machine to correct inventory levels.
  • Responsible for balancing truck inventory once a week.
  • Responsible for balancing machine vendors on consistent basis.
  • Collects money from vendors, makes change, records transactions and delivers money to coin room daily.
  • Maintains and updates daily service cards and handhelds of record meter readings on cold drink, coffee, inventory and unit sales on all other products.
  • Determines and places product orders for proper product assortment. Maintain records on throw always daily. Order sandwiches daily.
  • Maintains and cleans machines, outside and in, on a daily and/or weekly basis, depending on service schedule. Perform very basic vending machine mechanics; reports all other maintenance problems to maintenance personnel on a timely basis.
  • Stocks condiments and utensils, properly cleans and maintains condiment and microwave station.
  • Listens to and resolves service complaints when servicing accounts.
  • Reports vending related issues or problems to supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Loads truck with vending products, milk, sandwiches and changers.
  • Cleans outside and inside of truck.
  • Performs routine maintenance on truck.
  • Operates Canteen vehicle safely.
  • Responsible for performing all job duties in a safe manner.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 18 years or older.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills: Ability to operate a handheld computer.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Motor Vehicle Operators License,
DOT Medical Certification, and a Good Driving Record.
