Job Type: Full Time Position Summary:

The PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident will be involved in the day-to-day operations of a Pharmacy Benefit Management company and will gain the understanding of the claims processing system and benefit design in order to launch clinical activities. The Resident will experience and be a participant in the Medical Affairs division, disease state management , clinical operations, client management, formulary management process and health plan operations. The Resident will also be involved in analyzing pharmacy data and medical literature to effectively solve clinical problems and to make valuable recommendations. The Resident will participate in local and national pharmacy meetings and represent CVS Caremark in a professional manner in all encounters with internal and external customers. The Resident will also complete, present and submit for publication, a major research project. The Resident will be expected to act as a mentor and assist the preceptor with the pharmacy student interns which rotate through the Client Service Operations department. Required Qualifications:

Must have strong analytic abilities; ability to work with and mine large datasets.

Must have a strong background in managed care pharmacy preferably in a PBM or health plan setting through summer internships or pharmacy experiential rotations.

Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Power Point and have experience with data mining tools such as Microsoft Excel and Access.

Must have excellent time-management skills and be able to work independently or as a team member.

Must have participated in the ASHP Matching process and "matched" with CVS Caremark/Pittsburgh

Pharmacy technician/pharmacist experience. Preferred Qualifications:

Managed care experience a plus.

Pharmacy intern rotations focused on managed care preferable. Education:

PharmD from a U.S. accredited program; RPh Licensure in PA in good standing (or eligible). Business Overview:
