We are currently seeking a Reliability Engineer who will be expected to be knowledgeable and on the forefront of predictive and preventive maintenance technologies, execute excellent troubleshooting skills for mechanical equipment, consult in the development of projects for improvements and expansions and support equipment repairs. Some of your key responsibilities include:
Establishing and driving reliability engineering principles and best work practices
Establishing equipment performance expectations and measuring overall equipment performance
Apply appropriate reliability tools to drive improvements, optimize costs and improve asset effectiveness. Tools may include RCFA, Bad Actor Program, FMEA, RCM, etc.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for proactive identification and resolution of reliability issues
Optimizing preventative maintenance tasks and activities, identifying gaps and developing a corrective actions plan, driving implementation and evaluating improvement performance
Coordinating, directing and overseeing major overhauls as well as quality/precision repairs to critical rotating equipment for various production units, often at multiple/concurrent timeframes
Develop a multi-year reliability improvement plan; lead execution of the plan and monitor progress
Leading reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) teams on supported units in order to identify problem areas, repeat failures, unsafe/poor performers and potential improvement areas; driving corrective actions and evaluating improvement results, clearly and effectively communicating to key stakeholders through process
Troubleshoot equipment problems and conduct root cause failure analysis investigations on failed equipment, develop action plan to eliminate repeat failures, and implement corrective actions
Working with production to identify key areas for reliability improvements, develop action plan, and work to integrate the Bad Actor program with the OEE process to drive higher asset availability.
Support capital projects with engineering expertise for specification, design and construction of projects in accordance with plant requirements, company standards and regulatory codes
Provide technical support to all reliability specialist and mechanical technicians on mechanical repairs, troubleshooting problems, and equipment installation issues
Provide technical support to the Engineering Department on the selection of mechanical equipment based on reliability improvements and industry best practices
Actively support and assure compliance to all ESSH policies and procedures.
Required Skills
Mechanical Engineering degree with a minimum 8+ years experience in maintenance, with at least 2 of those years implementing reliability centered maintenance principles. MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred but not required.
General knowledge of continuous and or batch chemical production preferred.
Knowledge of motors (minimum of 100 HP), turbines (minimum 10MW), compressors, fans, gear boxes, and pumps is essential. Extruders, agitators, mixers, reducers and dryers are an asset.
Knowledge of gear design, ratings, manufacturing methods and quality control is preferred.
Working knowledge on operation, maintenance and repair methods and techniques of gears, fluid drives, shafts, bearings, couplings, power transmission systems and turbo machinery.
Knowledge of machine dynamics, vibration measurement and analysis, tribology and lubrication, and failure analysis
