The Mechanical Engineer position is required for new product development of aerospace electronic systems while complying with appropriate regulations.

This Position is supervised by the Mechanical Engineering Manager
* Regular contact with Development Engineers
* Periodic contact with the Vice President of Engineering
* Periodic contact with other production and purchasing members
* Periodic Contact with OEM vendors
* Periodic Contact with Customers

* BSME or equivalent engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years design experience
* 5 years hands-on, mechanical engineering experience in a product development environment.
* 2 years experience in aerospace mechanical engineering work in a development and/or sustaining environment.
* 2 years experience within an electronics manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of FAA and regulatory design requirements including DO-160.
* Knowledge of electrical implications of mechanical design including thermal performance, electrical grounding, and corrosion.
* Strong knowledge of materials properties and manufacturing limits of sheet metal, plastics, castings and others.
* Proven track record of engineering designs being successfully released to Production.
* Proficient with 3-D modeling (preferably SolidWorks), FEA applications (preferably ANSYS), and MS Office.
* Ability to work as both an individual contributor and as part of a cross-function team.
* Able to work with minimal supervision.
* Required to continuously increase personal capabilities and design skills
* Experience leading a project.
* Self-motivated, with the ability to drive and motivate others.

Mechanical Engineering design including:
- Electronic Packaging Design of Aerospace Hardware
- CAD design (sheet metal, machined parts, plastic parts, castings)
- Drawing packages
- Weight analysis
- Thermal analysis
- Structural analysis (FEA)
- Assembly documents
- BOM part selections
- Engineering Change Orders
- Building of prototypes
- Perform mechanical and environmental testing
- Technical Reports

Generate accurate Mechanical design documentation.
* Deliver assigned projects on time and within budget constraints.
* Participate as the Mechanical Design Engineer on design teams.
* Keep current on all assigned programs
* Effective time management on all assigned projects.
* Provide estimates of design project hours, as required.
* Support Sustaining Engineering with subject matter expertise, as required.
