This position sits within the Corporate Risk Management (CRM) team and will report to the Head of AML Operations for Discover Payment Services. This role involves conducting quality assurance reviews related to AML & Fraud Investigations, Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR), Customer Due Diligence, and Sanctions/Negative News screening dispositions. The QA Manager will have one direct report.

This role requires an acute attention to detail, the ability to work independently and execute risk-based decisions with minimal oversight, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Individuals in this role are responsible for:
• Perform quality assurance reviews of AML and Fraud Investigations and SARs, customer due diligence reviews, and screening dispositions.
• Ensure alerts, investigations, SARs, CDD, and Screening dispositions are properly documented in accordance with the applicable policies and procedures and are consistent with respect to supporting documentation, case notes, and due diligence performed.
• Assess compliance with BSA/sanctions related regulations and established Network policies and procedures and identify any potential and emerging BSA/sanctions/fraud risks or issues.
• Identify, test, and evaluate key control points within the investigations workflow process and procedures to ensure adherence to policy and procedures.
• Escalating and articulating key risks to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Providing meaningful, robust metrics and reporting identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to Management and other key stakeholders.
• Continuously assessing the program, identifying and implementing opportunities for increased effectiveness, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
• Attending continuing education courses, reading industry news articles, attending workshops and conferences, etc. to ensure awareness and understanding of the most current industry standards and regulatory expectations.
• Interfacing with internal audit and external examiners as needed to explain the control environment and scope of QA reviews.
• Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Significant BSA, AML, OFAC, KYC or similar industry experience required
• Excellent communication skills; must be able to articulate verbally and in writing clearly, effectively, and concisely
• Leadership/coaching experience required
• Strong Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio experience is preferred
• Experience as a Bank Examiner or auditor is preferred
• CAMS or similar Certification preferred
