About this job
The Certified Center Technician I is a skilled position responsible for the diagnosis, troubleshooting, repairing and testing of equipment. The technician will perform diagnosis and assembly of equipment, metal & cabinet repair/fabrication, and cabinet painting. The position requires a high level of understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts and the ability to perform the required repairs. Other duties include but not limited to:
Primary AccountabilitiesDiagnose, repair, and test of all types of marketing equipmentComplete serviceability assessment of all marketing equipment in accordance to PepsiCo standardProvide financial disposition and accurately record asset pedigree information in support of all PepsiCo compliance standardsClear and accurate record keeping including parts usage and inventories, maintenance records and timeProper disposal and recycling of parts, equipment and associated record keepingWork station maintained clean and organizedPerform various types of welding to include: Spot, Plasma, MIGUnderstand and perform metal bending and fabrication utilizing various metal presses and shearers Complete spray painting of all identified equipment and componentsCosmetically restore equipment to OEM standardsRemove old parts and replace with new partsTransport miscellaneous items (e.g., compressors for repair/scrap, cardboard for recycle, etc.)Repair, fabricate, paint, and troubleshoot equipment cabinets and components
Basic Qualifications
18 years or older
Pass the drug test and background check
Must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds continually throughout the shift
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge required
Able to pass OEM certification tests
Good work, attendance and safety records
Ability to effectively communicate with their manager
Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime
Helpful Experience
Working with electrical systems (understanding flow, wiring, outlets, etc.)
Working with metal, fabrication, paint booth systems and chemical handling (sanding, metal repair, paint spray systems, etc.)
Working with basic refrigeration systems (understanding refrigeration cycle, refrigerants, compressors, evaporators, condensers, etc.)
Working with mechanical systems (experience with mechanical concepts, troubleshooting and repairing appliances, basic household repair of plumbing, electrical components, operating hand and power tools)
