Educational Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.

Position Requirements:Minimum one year payroll and benefit experience needed with prior human resources generalist experience preferred; Prior experience in long-term care useful; Demonstrated computer skills required.

Human Resources Assistant/Scheduler

Reports to: Human Resources Director/Director of Nursing
W/H Class: Hourly

Job Summary
Responsible to prepare schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels in the nursing department on a twenty-four hour basis according to administrative requirements. Responsible to assist in general Human Resources activities.

Residents Rights
• Knows and respects patient rights.
• Ensures all protected health information is kept confidential.
• Reports all complaints made by patients to supervisor.
• Reports all allegations of resident abuse, neglect and/or misappropriation of patient property.

Safety and Sanitation
• Follows established safety policies and procedures.
• Observes safety needs of patients as indicated in care plan.
• Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when indicated and properly trained to use.
• Demonstrates job-specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations.

Staffing and Scheduling Coordinator Responsibilities
• Prepares monthly schedules and daily sign-in sheets for nurses and nursing assistants.
• Takes call-ins while on duty and finds replacement for staff call offs.
• Updates the master schedule with changes on a daily basis.
• Maintains a record of absenteeism and point accumulation and reports to the ADNS.
• Records all Leaves of Absence, special requests, vacation and holiday requests, and requests for schedule changes.
• Obtains appropriate approval for time-off requests, shift trades, and vacation requests.
• Attends weekly staffing meetings and reports to the Administrator, ADNS, and the Human Resources Manager, the staffing summaries, open positions, Medicare hours, and hours PPD.
• Reviews the daily punch details, compares it to the master schedule, makes any necessary changes, reviews the float reports, and submits the completed detail to the ADNS for payroll.
• Revises staffing/scheduling forms as needed.
• Maintains a list of employee telephone numbers.
• Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly staffing summary reports.
• Maintains clerical supplies, equipment, manuals, and meeting minutes for the department of nursing.
• Maintains logs of hours worked in the distinct unit and available positions in the department.
• Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.

Staff Development
• Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training, educational classes and meetings, including safety committee.
• Participates in QAA process
