POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Partner (HRP) provides significant and professional Human Resource employee relations support and guidance to SRMC managers, supervisors and staff to ensure a positive work environment and in implementation of new programs or Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) changes. The HRP is the initial resource for employees, managers and external customers for HR and collective bargaining agreement issues. This position provides operational support to the facility employee benefit plans, general employee communications, wage and salary programs, employee recognition programs and recruitment. MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

To competently perform the duties of this position, a background including a bachelors level education in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Experience:

Seasoned human resources generalist experience required, preferably in a hospital setting.

Demonstrated success in interpretation and application of Human Resource practices and procedures is required.

Demonstrated competence in benefits administration, compensation program management, effective problem-solving, employee relations interventions, labor relations and grievance processing.

Knowledge:

Demonstrated knowledge and application of Federal, State and local regulations and laws, including, but not limited to; Wage & Hour laws, California wage orders, FSLA, EEOC, ADA, worker's compensation, state disability, ERISA, COBRA, Section 125, NLRA, Title VII, FMLA, JCAHO, state disability insurance, and the Rehabilitation Act. Demonstrated competence based on knowledge of employee relations, compensation practices, benefit plan administration, labor relations within health care industry preferred.

Special Skills/Equipment:

Must be self directed and have the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and complete assignments within established time frames.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

The ability to develop written reports and proposals.

Excellent communication skills (written/verbal/presentation) with all levels of staff.

Effective utilization of positive interpersonal skills, including negotiation and persuasion.

Effective leadership skills required.

Demonstrated ability to seek information on own initiative, maintain a high level of customer service satisfaction and set goals which are challenging yet realistic.

Demonstrates ability to use standard PC equipment and word processing software required.

Ability to implement and maintain effective employee relations, benefit and compensation programs and labor contract administration.

Basic leadership negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
