Primary Responsibilities:



  • Supervises a team of Health Plan Performance Managers for the Central Region

  • Plan, develop and implement operations strategies and action plans to ensure operational contract compliance, with focus on ensuring optimal operational performance

  • Partners with the Regional Health Plan CEO, Executive Directors, COO's and CFO's in a two-way exchange to understand our State Partner requirements and UHC C&S service delivery requirements to execute on those requirements

  • Ensure UHC, Community & State operations and service models are optimized and effectively integrated across functions

  • Provide leadership to their Health Plan Performance Managers and support them in working across the organization to ensure we are executing on our State Partner commitments in the most efficient and effective manner

  • Serves as the Voice of Operations on the Regional Leadership Team

  • Identify and reduce operational variability that is not contractually required

  • Build and maintain relationships with Operations leaders

  • The Central Region market includes: IA, KS, MI, NE, OH, TX and WI - preferred candidates will be located in this market

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 



  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years demonstrated direct and/or matrixed people management experience

  • Proven ability to manage and drive team performance

  • 5+ years in-depth managed care health plan operations experience to include, but not limited to, Healthcare Operations, claims, call center, member/provider service, enrollment and/or eligibility

  • Medicaid or Medicare experience

  • MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint skills at an intermediate to advanced level

  • Proven ability to influence course of action when others are directly accountable to outcomes

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a matrix environment, strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated experience to drive Health Plan Operations change
