Wekiva Springs Center is a 120-bed acute behavioral health hospital providing quality care in a gender-specific program for men and women for behavioral health, substance abuse and working with the older adult popular. We provide treatment in a warm and caring atmosphere and we are located near I-95 and J Turner Butler in Southside area. Job duties included the following:

Conducts a medical assessment on all designated incoming admissions

Acts as liaison with referring facilities and obtains necessary medical information

Triage potential admissions for medical exclusionary issues

Coordinate medical clearance with the physician on-call or make arrangements to the nearest emergency room

Completes all medically required admissions forms

Compiles and establishes a new medical record for newly admitted patients

Contacts the designated physician and obtains admitting orders

Communicates admission information to the designated charge nurse on the designated unit

Coordinates admissions with Admissions Department

Conducts assessments on new patients when needed

Communicates admissions to the appropriate parties.

Average Score

Qualified candidates should have the following:

Must have a valid Florida Nursing License as a Registered Nurse

Must have at least 2 years Nursing experience with some experience regarding Admissions or Intake processes

Prefer at least 1-year Psychiatric Nursing experience

Must be able to manuever throughout the hospital

Must be able to communicate well with other hospitals, physicians, family members, patients and co-workers

Must be able to document in a patient admitting records

Must have good critical thinking and organizational skills
