About this job
The Social Worker provides services to patients and families acting as a liaison between treatment team, physician referral source, community agencies, outside therapists, and third party reviewers. The Social Worker provides individual, family, and group therapy per program needs. Assists in completing intake screenings. Completes direct care for patients/residents or PHP clients. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Education: Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field. Must possess knowledge of developmental and life stage of and psychiatric problems peculiar to younger childhood ( ages 3-7), middle childhood (ages 8-12),and adolescent (ages 13 to 18) populations. Knowledge of Belmont Pines Hospital policies and procedures.
Licensure : Must be a licensed in Ohio as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW or LISW) or Professional Counselor (PC or PCC).
Experience: Work experience as licensed social worker or councelor. Previous work experience in a mental healthcare facility is highly preferred.
Skills/Traits: Ability to communicate information in a positive manner with all levels of people, and age groups. Must be able to maintain professionalism in dealing with referral sources within the community, patients, families, physicians, and staff members. Able to maintain confidentially of information contained in the medical record of assigned patients. Able to act in a mature manner in situations that calls for diplomacy and tact. Should possess a command of the English language with good verbal and written skills. Must be organized and possess good administrative skills.
