About this job
The Dietary Worker participates in the provision of quality meals and nutritional services to clients, staff and guests in accordance with established policies and procedures and in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Compass Intervention Center System.
Monitors dietary department and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for clients, family members and staff. Modifies according to developmental needs of the clients.
Greets and converses with clients, staff and guests in keeping with effective customer service. Is pleasant and helpful when responding to client and employee needs.
Prepares meals as outlined on the menu prepared by supervisor. Follows recipes and directions as indicated. Begins to prepare various foods at appropriate times assuring meal is not over or under cooked and ready to be placed on the serving line at meal times.
Effectively operates food preparation equipment to fry, boil, roast, bake, broil, mix, and assemble food items.
Washes pots, pans, dishes, trays, and utensils promptly and thoroughly.
Properly cleans and sanitizes work area and equipment. Promptly removes trash as assigned.

Education
High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience
Prior dietary experience in a health care setting preferred
Knowledge
Prefer knowledge of equipment usage including (not an all inclusive list): stoves, ovens, steamer, fryer, grill, electric mixer, dish washing machines, microwave, food charts.
Physical Requirements
Heavy physical workload. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Requires standing, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling and stooping throughout the shift. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
