Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, CD, and the Geriatric population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone currently has a part-time, 8 hours per week, Mental Health Technician position available, Geriatric Unit 3rd shift.
The Mental Health Technician function as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. Mental Health Technician/ Specialist work under the direction of the Registered Nurse. This position requires working primarily with the Geriatric population however, must be flexible enough to work with other populations based on the needs of the facility.
This is a non-exempt position.
Education: Must have High School Diploma, college preferred. May substitute experience for Education (must have over 2 years.) Nursing students meet this qualification CNA must have 1 year experience can have 2 years of college as well, must be in related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Licensure: Must maintain a valid Indiana driver's license.
Additional Requirements: CPI/CPR training must be completed prior to working any unit independently. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours. Must complete and pass screening process.
Hours of Work: 10:45 p.m. - 7:15 p.m other times as indicated by immediate supervisor.
