Job Purpose:
The Logistics and Merchandise Manager will develop financial models, analysis and reports related to the financial and operational data of the retail sector. The Manager will monitor and analyze logistics costs and transit times in specific regions around the world including, UK, Europe, Asia, India and Israel. The Logistics and Merchandise Manager will also assess international sales performance at a micro level, marketing effectiveness, inventory activity and customs duties.
Deliverables :
Identify and develop successful strategies in partnership with key HQ and remote distribution centers to support the tracking of all shipments for focused regions.
Create business models and reports to correlate the relationships between logistics, planning and allocation, and retail locations in conjunction with sales.
Support new operational initiatives to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of such processes.
Work closely with primary internal business partners in the Supply Chain, Logistics, Planning and Allocation and Retail Field Operations to optimize sales and cost saving measures.
Provide support to International Operations Management on projects from start to finish (i.e. create models, data collection, generate reports/analyses)
Generate and automate various reports evaluating all costs associate with logistics, transit times and customs.
Research and review annual reports, business publications, and other sources to gather data on existing and potential competitors, market environment and industry.
Drive analysis of business performance using financial and statistical techniques to evaluate business trends and effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
Job Requirements :
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications :
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or similar analytical discipline
2-3 years of experience in an Analyst or Logistics background involving inventory, warehouse, or supply chain environment
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including in-cell formulas, pivot tables, macros/VBA, and other data manipulation and formatting functions
Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and MicroStrategy knowledge is strongly desired
Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability towork in a highly analytical environment and to make decisions based on quantifiable data
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to establish, develop and maintainkey business relationships both within the team and across businesses
Must have the ability to work independently; devise solutions and deliver results in a rapidly dynamic environment
Strong organizational skills and successful management of multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience in the retail/apparel industry is a plus
