Under direction of the Nursing Director provides direct patient care and functions as a lead worked or both professional nursing and sub-professional personnel in an assigned patient care unit. Functions as leadworker: assigns patient care duties to subordinate staff on assigned unit and shift and monitors and reviews duties performed for efficiency, adherence to patient care plan, policy and procedures. Discuss work performance of subordinate staff with supervisory personnel to assist evaluation process. Assists the physician on daily rounds; provide physician with charts and records of changes in conditions and delegates orders for prescribed medication, treatments. Confers with physicians, physical and rehabilitation therapists, other nursing staff members to plan and evaluate individual member course of treatment.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires graduation from an approved nursing education program resulting in an Associate or Diploma Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Requires one year Registered Nurse I experience. Require knowledge of pharmacology of commonly prescribed medicines and drugs and their therapeutic and possible adverse reactions. Requires ability to provide diversified professional nursing care and ability to set up and use specialized medical equipment. Requires the ability to evaluate patient condition and behavior and prepare accurate detailed records.
