Do you want great hours? McGuckin Hardware is currently hiring employees for its Distribution Center in north Boulder. We have openings for both Warehouse and Receiving Associates.

If you do not have previous related experience, the starting salary is $10/hour. The hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm.

Warehouse Essential Job Functions
- Responds to store merchandise requests in a timely manner.
- Ensures accurate accountability of all merchandise received or shipped out of the warehouse.
- Communicates merchandise activity to store management, including merchandise that has not moved or been requested.
- Maintains accuracy of the locator system.
- Updates price ticketing in a timely manner to reflect changes received from the store.
- Safely operates all equipment used in the receiving function (compactor, forklift, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Maintains knowledge of products and locations.
- Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
- Maintains a clean, safe working environment. Complies with all federal, state, and local occupational, safety, and health regulations. Practices safe lifting, cutting and transporting methods when handling merchandise. Knows and practices proper procedures for hazardous materials handling and disposal.
- Drives truck to destination. Operates truck safely and courteously.
- Loads and unloads truck. Ensures all loads are secure and loaded correctly to prevent product damage.
- Delivers merchandise to the correct departments.
- Communicates with other employees about product delivery and schedule.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, breaks, gas, oil and water. Maintains truck log.
- Cleans inside and outside of truck.

Receiving Essential Job Functions
- Checks the off loading carton count carefully against the quantity posted on the freight bill, notes on the freight bill, and reports discrepancies to the Receiving Department Head.
- Accurately detail checks in and tickets all merchandise shipments, viewing each item to ensure the packing slip, purchase order, and physical count all precisely match.
- Follows instructions to distribute merchandise to correct locations.
- Safely operates all equipment used in the receiving function (compactor, forklift, pallet jacks, etc.). Maintains proper use and care of computer work stations, bar code scanners, and portable devices.
- Maintains knowledge of products and locations.
- Understands the causes of shrinkage and loss and what his/her role is in preventing loss. Uses the utmost care when handling merchandise to prevent damage and loss.
- Assists vendors in preparing merchandise returns.
- Maintains a clean, safe working environment. Complies with all federal, state, and local occupational, safety, and health regulations. Practices safe lifting, cutting and transporting methods when handling merchandise.
- Knows and practices proper procedures for hazardous materials handling and disposal.
- Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.

Non-Essential Job Functions
- Understands the causes of shrinkage and loss and what his/her role is in preventing loss. Uses the utmost care when handling merchandise to prevent damage and loss.
- Maintains proper use and care of computer work stations, bar code scanners, and portable devices.
- All other areas relating to warehouse and/or merchandising identified by company management.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous warehouse experience desired but not required

Technical Experience
Previous experience with Eagle/Epicor preferred but not required
Must have basic functional knowledge of how to use a computer
Must be able to learn the store telephone system
Must possess or be able to obtain any legally required certifications related to the operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment
