The Time Warner Cable News and Local Programming Division is looking for an Associate Digital Content Producer to join our team of experienced content producers. The successful candidate will work in-step with a team of creative, energetic and talented producers in a fast paced high-energy environment. He/She will have an intense passion for communicating in the multi-platform digital space with an energetic and upbeat attitude and will strive each day to find ways to provide a better product than the competition. Essential Duties*Work with various newsrooms to report the news of the day and plan coverage that is appropriate for our various digital media platforms (website, mobile apps, social media)*Is attentive to web metrics and is able to adjust content to optimize the display of the site to viewer interests.*Produces news content that is enhanced with additional assets such as video content, links, and photos.*Must be able to select and prioritize content across a large geographical footprint.*Must be able to make decisions based on real-time metrics.*During major breaking news and severe weather events he/she will assist in coverage for the digital-platform by finding, using and/or offering the appropriate tools and information to ensure the safety of our audience.*Is able to plan and build special site sections and features that highlight coverage, link platforms and encourage user engagement*Can quickly generate a series of print-style articles for display on websites and in apps by utilizing an on-air script or press release.*Has a natural ability to find opportunities to tell the story uniquely in the digital space by adding video assets, photos, social, etc.*Is able to interact with followers on various social media platforms and grow the audience.*Eagerly assist with the generation, aggregation, management and utilization of user-generated content. *When assigned, will work with other departments on initiatives that require content integration.*Will apply SEO techniques to increase visibility of content.*Is familiar with video editing, encoding formats and live streaming. Daily Responsibilities*Prepares news and features stories based on on-air scripts and information provided by the assignment desk, wire services, newspapers, press releases, station archives and footage shot in the field.*Copyedits on-air scripts correcting for accuracy, clarity, factual content, grammar and spelling while maintaining editorial standards and reporter's personal style.*Writes original news stories in AP print style during breaking news situations.*Uses editorial judgment to place news stories on site in proper order to create a clear, informative user experience. *Produces special editorial content and expanded sections on an as-needed basis.*Maintains highest degree of quality and ethical standards in presentation of material.*Reads local newspapers to remain current with local, regional and national news.*Operates a suite of software that includes the Dalet newsroom management system, web content management system, and computer-based video encoding and image capture applications. Requirements*Must have a basic understanding of journalism.*Must be technically savvy, and have excellent computer skills and internet search techniques.*Is able to ensure all content is grammatically correct.*Will ensure content is factually accurate.*Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and perform essential job duties while working under pressure.*Is willing to work most weekends as well as to modify their shifts as needed.*Has a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, web scripting, and FTP.*Is eager to react quickly to breaking news/severe weather and make common sense decisions under the pressure to tell the story.*Must be a self-starter and able to form personal profession goals that are in line with the strategy of the supported platforms.*Candidate will maintain a positive work atmosphere that strengthens the team.*Responds attentively to viewer emails regarding content and technical questions.*Strong organization skills are a must.*Will perform other duties as assigned Education/Experience*Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications or related degree preferred*1+ year of experience working in producing news, sports, and/or lifestyles content preferred
