I. Job Summary
Sets-up and operates a wide variety of equipment, such as scraper, dozer, excavator, front end loader, articulated haul truck, blade, conveyors, compressors, and front-end loaders, and performs work per specifications.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner according to all relevant legislation, procedures, and directives.
Verifies that equipment is in working order, e.g., tooling, safety mechanisms.
Operates, controls, and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose potential defects.
Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment.
Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, and other pieces of equipment.
Responsible for cleaning, maintaining and securing all equipment as directed by OSHA, directives, legislation, and company policies.
May provide assistance and direction to less experienced equipment operators as needed.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Required: High school diploma or G.E.D, and four or more years previous experience.
Preferred: Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience, and four or more years previous experience.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Driver License
