The position requires a unique understanding of big box retail real estate and the ability to lead and manage the repurposing of second generation space and new ground up development in both the strip center and mall retail formats.

Responsibilities:

Market analysis, site evaluation and site selection.
  • Analysis of demographic and financial data.
  • Negotiation of business and legal agreements including letter of intents, purchase agreements, ground leases, building leases, development agreements, reciprocal easement agreements and other agreements typical used in complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Lead a team of in-house and external attorneys, architects, engineers, finance, research and construction professionals.
  • Management of third par 138 ty real estate brokers.
  • Arrange and lead market and project approval tours.
  • Project approval presentations to senior management.
  • Representation of the Company at public meetings and at industry events.
  • Negotiation of governmental incentive agreements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or J.D. preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and successfully executing a retailer’s multi-unit expansion program, big box experience preferred.
  • Leasing and development experience.
  • Strong industry relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to travel.
