Under the general supervision of the Systems Software Specialist III (Supervisor) over the Information Security Office and the Department's Chief Information Technology Officer, the incumbent performs the following functions:

Data Preservation and Litigation Hold: Assisting Staff Information Systems Analyst in managing and maintaining the Litigation Hold server. Responds to and tracks authorized requests for the gathering, retention, and compilation of targeted data. Provides appropriate access to data and documentation. Maintains chain-of-custody and evidence-processing documentation.

Audits and Maintenance: Assist in audits of all systems for security and approved usage of the computer information systems. Regularly inspect all computer areas for security violations. Work concurrently with other staff in the security program on information systems to reduce security risk.

IT Security and Technical Support: Assistant to staff and end users to troubleshoot PC, LAN, WAN, server, and other IT related problems. Monitoring of security systems. Assist in the resolution of problem areas. Document procedures and communicate with all levels of DIR staff, vendors, federal, state, and local government.

Training: Assist with the ongoing training of system users in the appropriate program applications. Ensure accountability of users and systems security. Maintain the record keeping relative to computer systems and their users. Responsible for implementation and scheduling of computer training classes for users.

Procurement: Procurement of computer hardware and software to include installation and support. Provides justification of computer hardware, software, and service to insure proper utilization. Provides system maintenance as needed.

Incumbent performs other duties as required.

Preference will be given to persons with State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) or Surplus status. Applicants must attach a copy of their most recently dated letter that specifies their designation as either SROA or surplus candidate as proof.

Qualified candidates must have eligibility in State employment, be in a reachable rank on an employment list for this classification, be currently in this classification, or have transfer eligibility to this classification. Training and Development (T&D) assignments may be considered.
