General Summary:

The Logistics Resource (Manager) is primarily responsible for people and team development, managing cost parameters, and providing service to customers (internal and external). You will be trained in Frito-Lay's distribution, manufacturing, and sales operations processes while assisting team members in solving problems and improving performance.

As a Logistics Resource you will be part of a seven person logistics management team responsible for leading our 140+ Perry OTR drivers and eleven administrative personnel in providing world class service to our customers. While an initial assignment may be in Logistics, your performance and interest could allow you subsequent assignments in Manufacturing, Distribution, and Sales Operations organizations.

Key activities in the logistics center include networking tractor trailer loads with Frito-Lay and other common carrier traffic centers, performing trade off analysis of common carrier/internal fleet mode usage, managing support staff responsible for driver dispatch, their computerized tracking of driver logs, backhaul revenue generation, motivating team members to achieve financial plan goals, developing team to solve own day-to-day operational issues, trailer yard team management administering policies and practices and conducting presentations and formal training programs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related field and 1 -3 years experience leading and developing others

Ability to create a safe working environment, ensuring that all members are knowledgeable of good safety practices and procedures

Demonstrated people and leadership skills with a record of achieving positive business results

Ability to give/receive constructive feedback

Working knowledge of TPM or other process improvement initiatives

Project management skills

Effective communications, coaching, facilitation, presentation and team building skills

Excellent computer skills using Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Ability to work in a fast paced, high intensity environment.

Ability to work off-shifts, weekends and overtime

Must be willing and able to travel 5-10% of the time
