Gaming Systems Design Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Redmond, WA.
Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Systems design, gaming or interactive
- Experience designing core systems in interactive software
- Experience prototyping, documenting and tuning key features
What You'll Be Doing:
- Collaborate with other designers, artists, and programmers on the team to deliver products, new experiences, tools, and features.
- Conceptualize, create, and maintain detailed design documentation throughout the project cycle.
- Ability to visualize designs and flows.
- Balance features to ensure products and features are accessible, intuitive and fun, while meeting organizational goals.
- Represent and evangelize the product, features, and tools inside the studio.
- Anticipate risks to quality and innovation, and work effectively with team leadership to mitigate.
- Have an open-minded approach to design and display the ability to challenge conventions.
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Three plus (3+) years of systems design experience, shipping software and/or games.
- Demonstrated ability to hold and communicate a strong creative vision for a feature while keeping the design agile.
- Ability to prioritize your time and work in an organized and efficient fashion to meet deadlines.
- Efficient in some form of visual communication, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Visio, PowerPoint, SketchUp, hand drawings, etc.
- Ability to think outside the box and be a pioneer on new experiences and new technologies.
- Experience working with a game engine or scripting language.
Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Unity
- Experience with various input devices, including voice, gestures or touch.
- Experience in narrative design, writing or storytelling.
