Senior Database Analyst - Secret clearance Job - Full-time / Part-time

Senior Database Analyst needed for a contract to hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Needham, Massachusetts.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Participates in the planning, design, testing, maintenance, enhancement, coding, and administration of relational databases
- Analyzes and determines information needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities
- Coordinates new data development ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure
- Reviews business requests for data and data usage, researches data sources for new and better data feeds
- Supports the development of the Automated Installation Capability (AIC) for GCCS-AF software with the goals of timeliness and accuracy of delivered products and the measurable decrease in automated installation time with no degradation of quality
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions
- Assignments may include design of data dictionaries, database structure and layout, installing, upgrading, and managing database applications
- Participates in setup and maintenance of test facility lab and maintain equipment and current baselines.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
- Participates in special projects as required

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in database development, coding, and design (ex. business analysis, event modeling, logical and physical database design, data access analysis and design, DBMS optimization, archive and recovery strategy, load strategy design, replication and implementation, security, and change management)
- Security+ Certification or higher (required)
- 5-8 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.
- Good communication skills are required when interfacing with customers (telephone and on-site support support)
- Database analysis and /or administration and software development including SQL and Perl scripting and/or support experience
- Familiarity/experience in any of the following areas: Sun Microsystems Servers, PC Servers, PC Clients and Oracle Scalable Processor Architecture (SPARC) technology. Operating Systems required: Solaris (UNIX), Microsoft Windows Server
- Experience with the USAF Global Command and Control System (GCCS) is a plus but not required
- Professional experience in any of the following is desired:
* Oracle 10/11, DBA, Sybase, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Access, or Perl
- Must hold a DoD Secret Clearance
