In our corporate departments at Wegmans, we work behind the scenes, partnering with all areas of the company including Store Operations, Manufacturing & Distribution facilities, and act as a key component in helping these areas function. Our corporate offices are located in the Rochester, NY area, and include such professional departments as Real Estate/Development, Human Resources, Advertising/Marketing, Merchandising, Consumer Affairs, Controllers/Finance, Information Technology and Asset Protection, as well as many others. All departments take part in performing world-class, cutting edge work that put Wegmans a step ahead of competitors and help make us a great place to work. This area of Wegmans offers career growth opportunities in a number of departments and professional fields.

Wegmans Corporate includes the following departments:

Real Estate/Development
Who We Are: Working as industry leaders, this team is responsible for finding and acquiring sites, as well as the world class design, construction and ongoing maintenance of all food markets and facilities. The group consists of several dynamic departments, including Real Estate, Design Services, Construction and Maintenance, which frequently interact with each other to accomplish their goals.

Examples of positions in this area include: Architectural and Interior Designers, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Construction Field Technicians and Superintendents, and a variety of skilled trades, such as Refrigeration Technicians and Facilities Mechanics.

Human Resources
Who We Are: The Human Resources area contains a number of varied departments; each contributing to the progressive development, implementation and management of change at all levels of the organization. As an employee of one of these groups, you will be a strategic business partner and will ensure tools are in place for our employees to continuously improve practices while maintaining Wegmans values and high standards across the company. Departments within this area include, Benefits, Compensation, Compliance, Payroll, Organizational Design, Training and Staffing.

Examples of positions in this area include: Compensation Analyst, Payroll Customer Service Representative, Leadership Development Planning Manager, Recruiter, and Training Facilitator


Advertising/Marketing

Who We Are: At Wegmans, creating an image that matches our vision, values and culture is possible due to the innovative work done by the professionals in our Advertising and Marketing departments. Working through various advertisements, our own Menu magazine, Wegmansom and numerous other media outlets, the Marketing team sets in motion the strategies to introduce or perpetuate the Wegmans brand to our customers; working closely with the Advertising team to bring those plans to life.

Examples of positions in this area include: Designer, Corporate Photographer, Web Content Coordinator, Marketing Manager, and Internet Production Administrator


Merchandising
Who We Are: The role of the Merchandising team is to understand customer needs and how the customer shops. They actively work with all company resources, as well as suppliers, to plan and develop comprehensive strategies focused on fulfilling customer needs, driving towards improving results every day.

Examples of positions in this area include: Perishable Category Merchant, Grocery Buyer, General Merchandise Administrative Assistant, and Produce Ripener


Consumer Affairs
Who We Are: Consumer Affairs acts as the liaison between Wegmans and our customers, and helps the company to understand our consumer’s viewpoints and identify future trends. They are responsible for customer communications and community and media relations. The department also acts as a technical resource for the company, in the fields of Nutrition, Sustainability, and Food Safety/Quality Assurance.

Examples of positions in this area include: Quality Assurance Technician, Consumer Services Administrative Assistant, Food Safety Assessor, Labeling Technician, and Corporate Nutritionist


Controllers /Finance
Who We Are: The role of the Wegmans Controllers/Finance group is to manage Wegmans financial resources and provide accurate, action oriented information which focuses on fulfilling consumer needs, increasing profitability and ensuring a safe environment for our customers and employees. This includes actively working with business partners to continuously identify and facilitate improvement and implement reporting metrics to measure results.

Examples of positions in this area include: SeniorInternal Auditor, Analyst, Entry Level Accounting Representative and Risk Management



Information Technology
Who We Are: IT employees support technology across multiple locations and states, research emerging technology to integrate into the company, re-engineer systems for an ever-growing and changing business, and prepare new stores for grand openings. They do all this while providing a secure, virus-free environment. Critical to the success of the company, IT is responsible for providing services such as e-mail, voice and data communications, supply chain applications, and web services including intranet and internet. Areas within this department include, Information Development and Technical Services, Operations and Support Services, Information Security, Network and Communication Services, and Project Support Services.

Examples of positions in this area include:
Help Desk Technician, Programmer Analyst, Information Technology Support Services Technician, Network Systems and Relational Database Administrator

Asset Protection
Who we are: The role of this department is to protect the company’s assets by executing comprehensive strategies focused on safety and security of people, the company’s assets and operations, and the protection of our business interests and reputation.

Examples of positions in this area include:
Asset Protection Specialist, Asset Protection Officers, Divisional Asset Protection Managers

What abilities I must bring to the table to be considered:

Basic qualifications for entry level corporate positions may include:
