How do I make a difference?




Providing Incredible, Knowledge Based Customer Service
  • Process prescription requests on the phone and in person while demonstrating patience, empathy and compassion in standard and sensitive situations
  • Use best practices when performing steps in the prescription fill/re-fill process to create efficient operations, correctly input information into computer systems, dispense correct medication and verify information before releasing products to customers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Third Party insurance by using available resources when communicating with doctors’ offices, insurance companies and other healthcare professionals, proactively contact necessary parties to address issues and achieve the best possible outcome for customers
  • Refer appropriate questions related to prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines to a Pharmacist and promote services offered by the department including Pharmacist counseling


Ensuring High Quality Products & Ingredients
  • Ensure the department is running smooth by assisting Team Leader with tasks, maintaining appropriate inventory levels through ordering, rotating and stocking drugs and other supplies
  • Take ownership of duties and responsibilities, comply with all Wegmans policies, state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations
  • Properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines and Simplification 5S procedures

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a Pharmacy or healthcare setting
  • Technician certification


Work Environment
  • Continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • Typical motions consist of repetitive forceful pinching and grasping, bending and lifting
  • Responsible for moving and lifting an average weight range of 1-10 pounds with a maximum of 35 pounds rarely
  • Frequent use of computer and telephone
  • May be exposed to various allergens
  • Will spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours

Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.

Days/Hours Requirement: This position has a preferred availability of 8 AM to 3 PM Sunday through Saturday. Hours per day and per week will vary.
