Portland, OR Seasonal Inbound Position

The ideal dock employee acts independently under general direction, uses good judgment in all decisions and actions and is committed to providing outstanding customer service every day. This position is June 1, 2015 through July 10, 2015. It requires a flexible 5:30am start time.

Responsibilities

• Unload cartons, pallets, containers and fixtures/equipment in a variety of sizes onto conveyor lines (often overhead or while on ladder)
• Communicate effectively with transportation personnel while unloading and unloading trailers
• Release and stage cartons to appropriate areas
• Inspect and record damaged or suspect cartons
• Operate pallet jack, dock-plate and other equipment, as necessary
• Monitor conveyor equipment for jammed cartons and resolve issues
• Ensure physical inventory matches logical inventory in the Distribution Center warehouse management system
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work above shoulder and overhead on a regular basis
• Bending, stooping, reaching and pulling regularly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Clear and effective verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
