POSITION PURPOSE - The Sr. Web Designer is responsible for delivering expert web design solutions for Homedepot.com. The Sr. Web Designer is a highly creative problem solver, able to carefully construct detailed web design deliverables with proficient speed and exceptional quality. Maintains and provides ongoing design of the website, product information pages promotions, seasonal events and redesign projects. Partners cross functionally with, Designers, Project Managers and Web Merchandising Managers to deliver seamless solutions. Guides and mentors other designers and serves as a subject matter expert for the design team.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- 20% Designs solutions that meet or exceed strategic objectives for Homedepot.com
- 40% Creates interactive design concepts; designs mood boards, storyboards, interactive page layouts, site grids and interface demos, photo retouching and enhancements
- 10% Provides quality assurance on creative deliverables
- 20% Works cross functionally with creative staff, merchandising, user experience, project managers, IT, agencies, photographers and other vendors to ensure optimal design solutions for the Homedepot.com customer
- 10% Contribute to the development of the online creative culture and quality standards

NATURE AND SCOPE
- Position reports to Manager, Online Creative
- No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eighteen years of age
- Must pass the Drug Test
- Must pass the Background Check
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

EDUCATION REQUIRED
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 03

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous design and interactive work experience in a retail environment or advertising agency preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of the latest versions of applicable programs -- Mac OS, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Understanding of motion design and the strengths and limitations of Flash, AfterEffects, Ajax, Flex, and other emerging platforms
- Comprehensive understanding of interactivity and the Web and the fundamentals of information architecture

- Ability to articulate and present creative ideas to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure with careful attention to detail.
