The Office of Military and Veterans Affairs (MVA) is charged with developing and executing a firm-wide strategy focused on supporting the military and veteran communities in the areas of employment, education, and homeownership across all our lines of business.
As an Operations Intern for the MVA, you shall be responsible for planning, coordinating, analyzing, synchronizing, and executing multiple projects over the course of several months. This position focuses on supporting the firm's military veteran's initiatives and the 100,000 Jobs Mission; it requires solid, proven skills in task analysis, project planning and execution.
Core Responsibilities:
Assist on projects in support of the MVA Program Managers and other internal business leaders
Assist the operations team in clearly defining project objectives, success metrics, and deliverables while supporting overall execution
Produce project reporting and tracking documentation, facilitating meetings at the office, business, and firm wide level
Ensure compliance of project activities with legal, audit, and risk policies
Assemble project teams, identify resource conflicts, identify schedule conflicts, manage change control, and function as an escalation point to keep all parties aware of new and ongoing tasks
Offer constructive options to ensure each project aligns to original expectations and scope, assist in the facilitation of issue resolution
Military service background and experience is preferred
Working knowledge of the US Military, National Guard, Reserves, and Veterans Affairs
Current attendance at an accredited university, pursuing a bachelors degree or greater
Ability to work effectively with senior-level management to deliver project
Strong background of establishing and meeting goals, tracking and driving optimization opportunities, and executing projects
Excellent relationship skills with the ability to indirectly assist and gain consensus on project teams
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; sound judgment
Strong decision-making skills combined with time management and project management skills
Strong communications skills with the ability to produce the highest quality reports and memos using the Microsoft Office suite of programs
