UNIX Engineer/Administrator - Full-time / Part-time

Experis is looking for a Sr. Unix Administrator/Engineer for a long term contract position in the Jacksonville, FL area. Please see below for the details. A MUST FOR THIS ROLE IS: Expert knowledge of Atlassian Suite including: Jira, Confluence, Crucible, Clover, Crowd


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Server system architecture, implementation, administration and documentation
Develop and support back-end server technologies in local and remote locations
Standardizes Server systems deployment using central deployment technologies
Assists peer technicians in troubleshooting and repairing of Server technologies
Schedule, communicate and manage change control in an enterprise which supports/effects multiple hardware and software platforms
Provide and support systems management in an environment requiring availability of 99.9 %.
Responsible for trouble-shooting different software and hardware issues and documenting the results.
Installs, configures, and tests different product sets on Linux operating Systems.
Creates repetitive processes and procedures to help with O/S and other hardware/software installations, software/hardware related trouble-shooting, security, and performance testing.
Works with team leads and project manager and process engineers to document logical steps of installing operating system and other firmware and software packages.
Works directly with customer representative to obtain and refine functional and technical requirements.
Satisfies requirements, meets agreed to completion date, and performs unit and integration tests for products developed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required)

7-10 years of experience working with linux and server technologies
Bachelors degree or the equivalent in work experience
Expert knowledge of Atlassian Suite including: Jira, Confluence, Crucible, Clover, Crowd
Experience with Tidal and other scheduling software
Experience with monitoring and alerting products like Solarwinds, Big Brother, NewRelic, Pingdom
Server Software/OS build and patch maintenance
Experienced in installing OS, managing domain user accounts and managing server farms totaling 40+ servers.
Experienced in troubleshooting various systems to included Linux Server, Messaging and Database technologies and desktop technologies.
Experience with Dell and Cisco (UCS) server hardware and management tools.
Expert knowledge of Linux and Unix operating system including RedHat 6 and newer
Expert knowledge with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Apps

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (preferred)
RedHat Certification
Storage background in SAN Storage solutions
Experience in technical project management relating to the implementation of enterprise applications a plus.
Experienced in VMware virtual hosting solutions to include vCenter Server 5+, vSphere 5+
Experienced with backup technologies such as Veeam, BackupExec and NetBackup.
Familiarity in Enterprise Automation: Cfengine
Familiarity with VMware vSphere 5, vCenter, and related hypervisor technologies
