We are currently seeking multiple candidates for a Jr. level Engineering R&D Technician for a 6-7 month contract assignment. If the candidate does successfully complete the contract and the results are positive, there is a chance this will become a long-term role.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is a combination of physics, engineering, and hands on work in a variety of disciplines including but not limited to physics, chemistry, signal processing, high power RF and microwave systems, electronics, electro-optics, and data analysis. The R&D Technician will work with other R&D and engineering resources on projects of critical importance. Guided by senior R&D Scientific and Program staff, the R&D Technician will design, fabricate, and perform experiments advanced technologies targeting new and emerging sensors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Fabricate experimental apparatus and conduct research and development of major importance on sensors, radio frequency and microwave technologies for a variety of different applications.
-Develop software for control and operation of laboratory apparatus.
-Analyze data from experiments using common software tools and using analysis methods typical of laboratory research environments.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
-B.S. Degree in either Physics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
-0-4 years of experience (0 years should have relevant course and project work)
-Ability to read schematics and Engineering drawings
-Experience working with Lab equipment (i.e. Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilliscops, etc.)
-Any machine shop or fabrication experience is highly desirable
-Any MatLab, Labview experience is a plus
