About this job
Under the direction of the Chief Security Officer and Maintenance Supervisor, provides Security Services to protect life and property of all persons on the hospital premises. Responds to all Emergency / Fire Codes and protects property from Fire, theft and vandalism. Ensures the quality of service provided is appropriate. Maintains active and satisfactory working relationships with staff, clients, and contractors. Provides support and coordination in the overall operation of the department and facility . Maintains proficiency within the field with reference to initial contact, interview and detention procedures.
Minimum of 1-year accountable work related experience, preferable in a hospital setting.
Must have a valid Class D Louisiana Drivers license.
Prior POST or MDTS Certification desired; may carry a baton and handcuffs.
Normal hearing, sight, and color discrimination.
Knowledge of general safety regulations.
Lift / carry articles which may weigh up to 30 pounds
Standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stooping, reaching, fingering, balancing, and handling in various degrees.
Talking and hearing skills essential to communicate with staff, department managers, physicians, and their staff, patients, and visitors;
Work inside and outside; subject to extremes in temperature and humidity.
Be able to perform minor Maintenance duties as requested.
