3M is seeking a Warehouse Operator for the Display Materials & Systems Division located in Haverhill, MA. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary :
The person hired for the position of Warehouse Operator will preparing orders for shipping according to invoice; performing general warehouse, shipping and receiving duties; accomplishing a variety of tasks required to receive, transfer and ship materials and finished goods.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Picks, packs and ships material according to procedures utilizing Baan, UPS and or Fed Ex software, as well customer driven shipping preferences and procedures
- Prepare shipments by picking, packing, labeling, wrapping, strapping and shipping the product
- Train warehouse, LGPL, and dock employees on Powered Industrial Vehicles
- Perform and document all transfer of material and inventory. Coordinate material locations and moves within the warehouse
- Review order against routing instructions to determine appropriate shipping method and carrier
- Maintain accurate shipping schedule to meet on-time shipping requirement
- Thoroughly understand and adhere to procedures for picking of orders according to priorities
- Loads and unloads shipments and receivables using manual dexterity, PIV and hand equipment as necessary
- Processes receiving, transfer, and shipping documents accurately
- Store and transport materials requiring special handling procedures
- Transfer inventory between production areas and warehouse
- Must be able to identify and troubleshoot problems as well as develop and make recommendations for alternative solutions. And/or escalate to supervisor in a timely manner to meet daily shipping schedule
- May rotate into Large Glass Processing line for inspection or performs cleaning and preventative maintenance on the LGP line equipment
- Performs general housekeeping and other miscellaneous duties in the various locations in the warehouse
- Understand and comply with OSHA and ISO 9001 standards and procedures
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Weekend work
- Working a fixed 1st shift
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Minimum one (1) year of warehouse experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current and valid forklift license
- Experience operating a fork-lift
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Read, write understand and communicate effectively in English with both customers and vendors
- Good technical, math and reading skills
