3M is seeking a Lathe/Grinding Operator for the Industrial ASD division located in Montrose, CO. Ready to be part of what's next?

Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Lathe/Grinding Operator will manufacture superior, non-defective super-abrasive grinding wheels and products in order to meet customer specifications and demands. The presence of every employee, when scheduled is required to conduct the company's business efficiently and effectively. A condition of continued employment is that employees will work overtime when requested to do so and work temporary assignments on another shift.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Operates manual machining equipment to finish product to Shop Order requirements, prints and drawings

- Operates manual and computer assisted grinding equipment and machines (OD, Center, Surface, Trueing and Dressing Grinders) to grind in-process and finished wheels to Shop Order requirements

- Selects and sets up materials, fixturing and equipment to meet Shop Order requirements

- Fabricates products, jigs, fixtures and etc. according to prints and drawings

- Operates and uses selected manual powered industrial lift carts/vehicles

- Performs changeover tasks

- Performs in-process inspections

- Performs general maintenance on machines and equipment

This position may require:

- Working overtime

- Weekend work

- Holidays as needed

- Short notice call in

Basic Qualifications:

- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a production grinding/machining environment

-

Previous experience working in a machine shop

-

Possess basic mathematical skills

-

Fluent in English, both written and verbal

-

Able to use basic measuring devices (micrometer, calipers, protractors, etc.)

Able to understand basic CAD drawings/prints

-

Possess basic computer skills

Location: Montrose, CO
