We are seeking an IT Project Manager-SS&MO Enterprise System Operating Controls Team.

 

Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive, technical IT Project Manager to be accountable for control risk assessment projects that aim to improve the accuracy and timeliness of data interaction. Additionally, an Enterprise System Operating Controls (ESOC) Project Manager may manage building of controls and engage in consulting as Optum's system operating controls Center of Excellence, all in support of SS&MO and operational quality.

 

 

Core Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Facilitating plan execution to meet business objectives and to ensure long-term risk reduction related to control risks.

Facilitating multiple risk assessment projects simultaneously.

Externally leading and facilitating SWAT teams to quickly understand system interactions, assess control environment and control risks, leading to long term remediation.

Collaborating with business leaders in the identification, prioritization, selection and execution of a control assessment where high-risk opportunities exist.

Managing the implementation of short-term and long-term control solutions for unique, complex, and sometimes urgent production issues in support of SS&MO.

Providing consistent communications to stakeholders and leadership.

Translating highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.

Influencing senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products and/or approaches.

Solid leadership and process facilitation skills.

Proven ability to successfully manage multiple, high-visibility, and competing demands.

Influence skills and organizational agility, with the ability to successfully negotiate a matrixed organizational structure to produce results.

Ability to perform under pressure and navigate effectively through ambiguity.

Seasoned program and project management skills.

Strong business judgment, data analysis, and interpretation skills.

Solid presentation, written and verbal communication abilities.

Proven ability to contribute to or lead initiatives with minimal guidance.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.


 

Overall 8 years or more of Information Technology-based experience.

Minimum of 3 years technical project management experience.

Experience working with virtual teams.

Experience managing more technically oriented projects like infrastructure projects

Proficiency in the use of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and MS Project.


Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with UnitedHealth Group IT core development and operations processes (Project Management, UDP, RSA, SS&MO, REF, etc.)

Knowledge of different system integration and technical data transfer patterns and services (FTP, Web Services, UPM, ECG, etc.)

Familiarity with continuous quality improvement methods and tools (Six Sigma, statistical process control, etc.)

Knowledge of organizational change management models and principles.

 

Experience in health care industry (payer / provider preferred).

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
