The Director of IT Architecture is an end-to-end position that will work with business owners to understand requirements, develop technical requirements, evaluate technical solutions, deliver design solutions to development teams and facilitate the development process through production.  While the position's focus will be on developing and delivering design solutions, it is expected that the Director will be able and willing to jump in at any point in the process from inception to testing to ensure successful delivery.

He/She will work closely with business owners, internal delivery teams (onshore and offshore), enterprise architects and external vendors.  Projects will range from working with existing applications to green field development.  The ideal candidate will be a software engineer who possesses the following background listed below.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in an architect or senior IT leadership role


• 5+ years of experience in a large, enterprise IT environment


• Strong analytical background; ability to understand technology and its component parts


• Experience taking high level requirements, negotiating with business resources and different IT departments, to deliver a solution


• Familiarity with and the ability to work with multiple technology stacks and solutions


• Outstanding verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate complicated solutions to a wide range of disciplines, including: executives, co-workers, project managers, sales personnel, developers, operations staff, external vendors

Assets:

• Service oriented architecture experience


• Healthcare IT industry experience
