The purpose of this position is to assist Retail Sales Specialists in discovering and leveraging their natural strengths, skills and gifts to bring out their best.

This position will also educate customers on our products and services and to enhance the image of Time Warner Cable, by accurately and professionally ensuring customer satisfaction in a variety of situations. This position is responsible for providing sales coaching, sales targets, customer service, taking customer payments in the form of cash, check and credit card, handle customer service inquiries, service issues and change requests in a confident and cordial manner. This position operates in a team environment and strives to achieve established personal sales and performance goals.

Essential Job Functions:


• Provide guidance, support, insight, encouragement and tools for Retail Sales Specialists to utilize daily.


• Build the momentum needed to reach goals.


• Support the overall sales skills development of the Retail Stores sales team by facilitating on the job training and assistance, as well as individual/team strategy sessions.


• Audit, correct, and track work order errors.


• Create a positive coaching environment where agents proactively seek feedback.


• Achieve sales and customer service objectives.


• Promote additional services that add value to customer’s current service package.


• Conduct product demonstration on retail sales floor utilizing interactive tools.


• Project a professional image to customers at all times. Welcome and assist customers with questions, concerns and service changes.


• Perform necessary functions for new and prospective customers, including selling and bundling services, entering account information into the computer system, scheduling installation and verifying serviceability, deposit requirements and service requirements.


• Assist customers with “instant installs”, customer education and operation of equipment.


• Assist customers with equipment issuance or returns, billing questions, research requests and service issues.


• Retain customers requesting disconnect or downgrade of service by demonstrating the ability to overcome objections, explain features and benefits and explain the benefits of bundling services.


• Continuously learn and retain knowledge of current procedures, services, equipment, promotional offers and new product offerings.


• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards.


• Perform cashier duties, including accepting and processing of customer payments and balancing receipts and cash.


• Travel to other Retail Store locations to provide coverage for vacation, company initiatives, etc. as necessary.


• Embraces change in a positive and productive manner.


• Assist store Greeter and Stock responsibilities as needed.


• Assist store with Coordinator responsibilities as needed.

Job Requirements:


• Must presently be part of the NYC Retail Stores Sales Department as a Lead Retail Sales Specialist, Retail Sales Specialist or Retail Stock Greeter

• College Degree and a minimum of 3 years Sales/Customer Service/Retail experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A proven track record of being a trend setter and knowing how to effectively communicate with our customers

• Exemplifies Time Warner Cable’s Core Values and Mission - Excellence, Teamwork, Initiative, Innovation, Integrity, Inclusion and Community

• Available to work assigned shift as within guidelines and accommodate a flexible retail schedule.

• Strong sales acumen.

• Computer knowledge required for data/order entry.

• Basic math skills required, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers accurately.

• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt and multitask in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Ability to handle cash and equipment with accuracy.

• One year cash handling experience preferred.

• Ability to travel to other stores to cover as needed.

• Knowledge of CSG billing system a plus
