We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Environmental Health and Safety Professional.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Our client a sustainable electric and gas company whose regulated operations serve 7.2 million U.S. customers in the Southeast and Midwest has an immediate need for an EHS Professional in Mount Holly, NC for a long term contract assignment. Please apply asap for this excellent opportunity!

Responsible for performing tasks in a wide range of environmental disciplines to achieve compliance with the organizations

EHS standards and with federal, state and local regulatory requirements. Works under close supervision.

Performs tasks that are usually from detailed instructions and established procedures.

Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment for following defined policies and procedures.

Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of basic programs, systems and procedures.

Assists in monitoring and preventing environmental incidents and hazards.

Works with others to investigate environmental incidents or complaints. Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize the hazard potential.

Assists in the development and conduct of employee training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs. Maintains a working knowledge of technical aspects of regulatory requirements.

Supports basic work activities in order to comply with environmental laws, regulations and corporate requirements. Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of basic programs, systems and procedures.

Assists in EHS compliance and management system audits. Assists subject matter experts and customers in environmental activities that require basic knowledge of EHS issues.

Assists in monitoring and preventing EHS incidents and hazards along with investigation of incidents or complaints.

Concept knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance requirements, scientific practices, quality assurance principles, and auditing principles.

General technical skills in multimedia environmental (air, water, waste) areas.

Very good communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a customer-oriented focus.
