About this job
Enters orders into the laboratory computer system, performs venipunctures and collects and labels laboratory specimens appropriately. The phlebotomist answers the phone, performs clerical and receptionist duties and maintains patient files. The duties also include processing specimens to send to reference laboratories and assisting the clinical lab scientists as needed. May be required to register patients in the hospital computer system.
Basic Qualifications:
Education - High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
Education - Completion of a phlebotomy course
Experience - 1 year of experience in Previous phlebotomy or related work
