General Summary: This person contributes to the success of the Atlanta Gatorade plant operation.
Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
Apply Engineering, TPM Early Management, LSS and other Continuous Improvement Process principles to analyze and plan for the requirements of assigned projects and other work
Conduct best value analyses cost studies and risk analyses to ensure projects achieve targeted objectives
Prepare specifications and design process and package flows for assigned projects and oversee the preparation of all necessary drawings
Prepare scope, cost, lead-time, installation time and downtime requirement estimates for assigned projects
Leverage business system software to capture and analyze data for trouble-shooting, support of operations and justification of investments
Ascertain and adopt all relevant requirements including any construction or other regulatory permits, any environmental, safety and quality/sanitary design regulations, any company product or equipment specifications, and etc. for all work assignments
Specify, bid, select and purchase required equipment, parts and contract installation services for assigned projects to assure that the project is implemented as scheduled and within budget, achieving the best value for the investment while dealing with all suppliers and contractors with fairness and integrity
Plan and supervise work conducted by maintenance mechanics, contractors and service personnel to assure efficient coordination and completion of assigned projects as scheduled with minimal production downtime
Prepare the appropriate documents for new capital and expense projects, maintain required files, monitor invoice payments, manage budgets and ensure correct applications/uses of capital versus expense to meet legal and corporate policy requirements
Administer the implementation of training for maintenance, operations, quality and other's affected for all new equipment and systems installed on assigned projects
Keep abreast of new technological developments through professional study and journals and initiate reapplication uses within the plant
Develop and apply innovative and creative methods to improve plant operations, quality, cost, efficiencies, safety, environmental performance and etc.
Manage multiple projects and duties of varying priorities at the same time
Develop skills and attain knowledge of plant processes and equipment to allow development of improvement projects and to provide troubleshooting, problem analysis and technical support to the plant as requested
Develop, lead and coach project teams consisting of people of all levels of the organization from all functions required (operations, quality, maintenance, shipping, safety, etc.) to ensure these functions provide appropriate input, support and ownership for the scope, design, installation, start-up and successful operation of the project
Be flexible, capable and willing to change and take on additional responsibilities as the business requires and as assigned by manager
Requirements:
4-5 year Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering required
5-8 years experience in process, packaging or discreet manufacturing industries; food related preferred
5-8 years experience working with automation, PLC and HMI/OIT hardware, software, programming and communications systems (Ethernet, Modbus, Devicenet, Datahighway and etc.)
Experience with system integration, data acquisition, instrumentation, variable frequency drives, servo motors, starters, solenoids and other electrical and electronic equipment
Project Management training and experience
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, aggressive, results oriented culture
Superior team building and communication skills to work with all levels of the organization
Proven problem solving skills
Exceptional people skills, oral and written communication skills
Focus on process, packaging and/or machine design experience preferred
Strong technical competencies in at least one engineering discipline with solid understanding in several preferred
High level of competency in obtaining, analyzing, using and presenting data using tools such as databases, spreadsheets and other business software
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and shifts if requested, including weekends and nights to support the business
