About this job

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead scheduling activities for Indianapolis Distribution Center, and support other loactions as assigned

Troubleshoot work activities through technical knowledge of WMS, TMS and SAP systems

Manage workload by coordinating all orders and unloads to meet shipping and pick-up schedules

Ensure that the proper mode of Transportation is utilized based upon service requirements

Interact with Customer Service Representatives from both PepsiCo and carrier base to troubleshoot and answer questions

Collaborate with order processor and STO creator to ensure adequate inventory is available for interplant shipments

Adhere to route guides and carrier capacities to ensure all freight is covered at the lowest possible cost

Provide continuous feedback to Transportation Leadership, that aids in improving carrier partnerships

Validate any locally paid facility accessorial charges.

Interact/coordinate with Planning to prioritize and expedite shipments in order to achieve Fill Rate objective

Assist with carrier equipment availability, in order to achieve critical KPI's: Fill Rate, On Time Delivery, and Cost/Case

Support freeze protection program, international shipments, sports marketing, and other specific duties as assigned

Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekend coverage, and extended work days. Perform effectively with multiple work teams, regardless of physical work location. Expectation is to have a presence at both the Indianapolis Plant and the Indianapolis Service Center.

Complete Behavioral Observation System inspections

Participate in Safety Committee Meetings, and/or other plant-wide safety initiatives

Meet all customer driven initiatives (CPU, co-mingle, DSD, etc.)

Period and quarter end shipment reporting requirements

Complete all OS&D and customer returns and provide proper carrier for return.

Support research requests, for overweight loads, mis-shipments, freight claims

Ensure compliance to route guide to achieve lowest net landed costs

Identify and utilize low cost modes of Transportation based on needs of the Customer.

Assist in identifying alternate sourcing for customer shipments, diversion, etc.

Demonstrate effective communication (both written and verbal), as well as high levels of motivation and leadership

Support Lean Six Sigma activities, including generation of Kaizens

Maintain a professional approach and appearance for work activities

Communicate key information to site leadership, the carrier base, and Customer Service Teams

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

* High School Diploma required,

* Excellent verbal and communication skills

* Strong Analytical and Organizational skills

* WMS/SAP experience preferred

* Willingness to assist others in the department

* 1-2 years experience in warehousing or distribution.

* Excellent organization skills

* High level of attention to detail

* Ability to manage several different tasks at the same time to successfully complete

* Proficiency in working with the following computer programs/systems: Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, TMS, Dimples, and SAP.
