The Clinical Services Manager leads a team of nurse practitioners who deliver cutting edge care in our innovative clinical model.   OptumHealth is a national leader in developing and implementing care models that serve the frail and chronically ill population in both the nursing home and community settings.  This position plays a critical role in determining the successful implementation of our clinical model and provides opportunity to demonstrate excellent management skills.

 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Recruiting and orientating new staff and developing strategies for retaining clinical staff

  • Building self-directed work teams with autonomy and accountability for their own goals/targets

  • Supporting and promoting organizational goals into specific goals and objectives for clinical staff

  • Translating business imperatives into clinical priorities

  • Developing and conducting programs that support and improve quality management and clinical performance of the OptumHealth clinical model in the patient home environment

  • Planning and directing clinical and business project implementation

  • Oversight and performance of various administrative/operational functions to support the team

  • Providing clinical/health services expertise on business development efforts

  • Developing/strengthening relationships with various stakeholders and health plan partners

  • Participating in cross-function and/or cross-geography teams

  • Analyze workload environment and streamline workloads on an ongoing basis

  • Analyze caseload assignments and make adjustments to shift assignments as needed

  • Promote collaboration among clinical and non-clinical staff

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • License and certification as a Nurse Practitioner, ANP or FNP preferred, Masters

  • Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of assignment or the ability to obtain

  • Nurse Practitioner national certification as ANP, FNP, or GNP required or the ability to obtain

  • DEA License or the ability to obtain

  • Minimum of one year of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner

  • A clinical background in adult, family or geriatric specialties

  • Past experience working in a nursing home or with seniors in other setting

  • Intermediate level of proficiency in PC based word processing including Microsoft Word and Outlook



Preferred Qualifications:


  • At least 2 years of NP clinical experience required, with knowledge of long term care, geriatrics and chronic illness

  • 3+ years in related leadership role with primary focus on managing and developing a clinical team

  • Strong supervisory, management and leadership skills

  • Strong business acumen including analysis and business planning experience

  • Proven experience in developing and sustaining internal and external client relationships with healthcare professionals and business partners
