POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Strategic Business Development will shape and drive adoption of Healthagen's analytical services for a specific client base within the healthcare industry: pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology companies, and medical device firms. The Director will lead client account management for the Healthagen Outcomes business unit, with responsibility for strategic sales and direct client relationships. The Director builds strategic client relationships within the Pharma/Device/Biotech field and advances pipeline opportunities throughout their life cycle. He/she will also inform the strategic direction of Healthagen Outcomes to refine its service offerings based on critical market feedback.

Fundamental Components:

The work:

- Builds durable, effective and strategic relationships with external customers and identifies key decision-makers within client organizations

- Manages new and existing client relationships from product definition through contract execution and overall account management; collaborates with key Healthagen Outcomes resources for handoff to implementation and delivery

- Defines and implements a systematic strategy to identify and cultivate new clients

- Arranges and conducts regular strategic discussions/presentations with executive and non-executive levels via industry conferences and individual on-site meetings as well as non-traditional strategic sourcing

- Collaborates and maintains effective relationships with peers within Healthagen/Aetna to affect broader success and construct solutions that bridge to other technology or business services providing strategic value to clients

- Actively works to provide prioritized input into product features and services to satisfy market objectives

- Optimizes opportunities for repeat sales by productizing deliverables created within individual client engagements and creating a compelling value statement

- Works closely with larger Healthagen Outcomes team to prioritize organizational resources in support of clients and initiatives. Resolves escalated client issues

- Follows all CMS regulations and any applicable compliance standards to protect Aetna members as his/her highest priority

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

- Has sourced, defined, negotiated and sold complex technology, services, or solutions to large clients in the healthcare space

- Substantial relationships within the pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device industry

- Understands healthcare industry in detail

- 5-10 years experience

- Entreprenurial mindset

- Specific experience in healthcare analytics

- MBA or advanced degree required

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is an MBA or other MPH with equivalent experience.
