Time Warner Cable currently seeks a Contractor Management Team QA Technician for our Technical Operations Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position
PURPOSE:
To perform field inspections of all installation and service work completed by contractors to assure compliance with established Time Warner Cable policies, standards, and procedures.
Schedule - Tues., - Sat., 8am - 5pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apply advanced technical skills to inspect work performed by contract technicians for the purpose of validating quality of work, productivity and/or contractor invoicing.
Repair any deficiency noted in drop system.
Document the quality of all workmanship and report any necessary information required to direct supervisor.
Assist in improving system integrity by identifying areas of training and education needed by contractor personnel.
Safely operate and properly maintain tools and equipment.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customer premise equipment and program services/listings in order to provide information to customers and market company products. Attend trainings when necessary.
Prepare and accurately maintain logs, reports, work orders and other related documentation in accordance with company and departmental policies.
Report all property damage, injuries, customer complaints and other potential problems and unusual occurrences promptly to a supervisor or as directed.
This position may require the QA Tech to perform on-call duties as described in TWC policies.
This position handles difficult customer service issues related to service/installation problems (i.e., OTP/VIP calls) and acts as the liaison between the contractor, customer and TWC.
JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
All QA Techs must successfully complete of Time Warner Cable Field Technician training program, which include classroom, field training, and evaluation of individual work in the field, within six months of their hire date.
May be required to climb poles utilizing while wearing related safety equipment.
Utilize step and extension ladders up to 32’ in height to perform essential duties.
Must possess and apply relevant knowledge of Time Warner Cable, applicable federal and state occupation health and safety regulations, General Orders 95 and l28 rules and regulations.
Knowledge of basic electronic theory as it relates to essential duties.
Relevant knowledge of personal computer hardware and software
Ability to utilize software (i.e., unified, ping tool) to analyze network connectivity.
Ability to use signal level meter and various test equipment to perform essential duties.
Ability to use various electronic devices to communicate between service location and office.
Must meet TWC attendance standards.
Ability to interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback.
Ability to read installation directions and work aides.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations to meet Time Warner Cable’s signal level standards at customer premise.
Good communication skills, customer relations skills and ability to educate customers
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 12 months as a three product (video, high speed internet and digital phone) technician (must be at least a FT2 or FT3).
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record are required.
May be required to successfully complete and maintain the licensing process with the applicable state regulatory agency which oversees certification to install and service home security systems. Licensing includes fingerprint capture and successful completion of an extensive background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:
Will be required to climb to heights in excess of 20 feet on utility poles.
Carry and properly utilize 28’ and/or 32’ extension ladder
Lift and carry up to 100 pounds (Type IAA 32’ ladder = 83 pounds; Type IAA 28’ ladder = 67 pounds + tool belt/various equipment = 17 pounds on average).
Must meet and maintain compliance with Time Warner Cable’s Safe Weight policy.
The ladders, buckets and other climbing equipment necessary to perform the work of a field technician are rated for maximum weight capacities which includes the weight of the technician plus any tools the technician is carrying. Exceeding the weight of such ladders, buckets or other climbing equipment poses a serious risk to the safety of technicians and the public, and may violate state and/or federal limits for such equipment. The maximum body weight of a field technician for use of the majority of such equipment is 325 pounds.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer, handheld wireless device, cell phone and hands free adapter, printer, various hand tools & meters, ladders, photocopy and FAX machine, company vehicle.

Requires adherence to Time Warner Standards of Business Conduct. Position must assist in maintaining the confidentiality of customer and business data at all times.
