Hours are Monday - Friday 4:00pm to 8:00pm CST (20 hours per week; with a likelihood to work an additional 10-20 hours per week)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be able to assist clients in creating a healthy vision and goals for their Health & Wellness program
- Participate in weekly meetings and monthly in-service trainings
- Demonstrate an ability to deliver effective telephonic coaching in a manner that promotes behavior change
- Appropriately adapt telephonic coaching and education methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific needs of each clientele served
- Demonstrate established customer service behaviors and standards
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; preferably in psychology, social work, health education, nutrition, exercise physiology or closely related field
- Minimum two years of experience required in direct education and/or coaching with individuals for disease prevention, health promotion and behavior change
- Intermediate level of proficiency in PC-based word processing and database documentation (Word, Internet, Outlook)
- Minimum of basic knowledge of disease prevention (cardiovascular and diabetes) and basic understanding of exercise principles, nutrition and weight management
- Ability to work evenings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Either certified in a nationally recognized coaching program or ability to complete certification by the end of the first year of employment
- WellCoach certification
- Registered Dietician
- Personal Training NASM, ACE
- Community Health: CHES
