Under the general supervision of the Unit Director or designee the Emergency Room RN Clinical Supervisor assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided on the unit.
The Clinical Supervisor:
Assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions of the unit.
Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff
Assumes responsibility for the overall quality and satisfaction of patient care.
Makes decisions regarding activities based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Evidence Based Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
Must fulfill all Charge nurse responsibilities when working assigned shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current licensure in Idaho as a Registered Nurse
BSN or enrolled in BSN program with anticipated completion within 3 years.
Minimum of three (3) years clinical practice in the clinical specialty of assigned unit.
Must be willing to work fulltime
Current verification of competency in AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers
ACLS/PALS within 1 year of hire or transfer.
NVCI within 6 months of hire and yearly.
Certification in area of clinical work, or plan for certification in place
Must have accountability quotient, be a change agent, and a champion of leadership/administration
Leadership and management experience preferred
Participation in Crucial Conversations course
Under no current disciplinary action
Must be proficient with computers
