This UM Nurse Consultant is a work-at-home opportunity. Full-Time Telework (WAH) available only for candidates located in Southeast US states, preferably located in MD, VA or DC.

POSITION SUMMARY

Utilizes clinical skills to coordinate, document and communicate all aspects of the utilization/benefit management program. Requires an RN with unrestricted active license.

Fundamental Components:

The UM Nurse Consultant utilizes clinical skills in a collaborative process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate options and services to facilitate appropriate inpatient healthcare management and effective discharge planning to improve the outcomes for members. More specifically, the inpatient care process includes: obtaining necessary information from providers and facilities concerning the care being provided to members; the assessment of a member's clinical condition and ongoing medical services and treatments to determine medical appropriateness; guide the setting for medical intervention to achieve optimum length of stay for members; the early identification of continuing care needs to facilitate discharge to the appropriate setting and discharge planning & coordination

Telework Specifications:

Full-Time Telework (WAH) available only for candidates located in Southeast US states, preferably located in MD, VA or DC.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

- Minimum 3+ years of clinical Med/Surg experience required

-Managed Care and/or Utilization Review/Utilization Management experience strongly preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

An active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.

EDUCATION

The level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
