JOB SUMMARY:
The Time Warner Cable Charlotte Operations- Carolinas Region currently seeks a Sr. Manager Construction for our Construction Department in our Charlotte, NC offices. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position. Position will oversee the overall operations of the Construction Department. Will review and negotiate contract agreements on behalf of the Time Warner Cable. Creates budgets, and oversees capital and operational spending and cash flow percentages for the Construction Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Oversees the overall operations of the Construction Department in the Charlotte location.Manages, interviews, selects, trains, promotes, motivates, evaluates and disciplines direct reports.Communicates and cooperates with City, County, State, local power and telephone companies, other cable companies or any other entity having mutual cable TV/ALTS Plant interests, problems or concerns and/or projects in our franchise areas and ensures that good operational relationships with these entities continue to exist.Resolves legal/operational issues with the City, County, State, local power and telephone companies and other cable companies regarding building and maintenance of the Cable TV and/or ALTS plant.Counsels and advises appropriate departments on system changes, technical or construction problems that can affect the Division.Selects and communicates with contractors and vendors performing work or providing plant related materials for the Division.Reviews and negotiates contract agreements on behalf of the Time Warner Cable to provide facilities, fiber, building and existing conduit structures.Creates budgets, and oversees capital and operational spending and cash flow percentages for the Construction Department.Maintains close partnership with internal customers in Business Class and Technical Operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Must possess a minimum of ten years of experience in a management position.Extensive experience in all facets of cable and telephone construction and operation of a cable system.Ability to manage large capital and operational budgets.Must possess extensive knowledge of all forms of cable TV and telephone construction, local, State and utility rules and regulations governing the construction and maintenance of the Cable TV and telephone systems.Must be able to read and interpret technical documents, HFC cable system design blue prints, legal documents related to easements and rights of way, and various communications systems and sub-systems.Possess a valid Texas driver's license and safe driving record.
