POSITION SUMMARY

Drug utilization review (DUR) pharmacist. This pharmacist will review all DUR test types daily to increase patient safety and to look for cost savings opportunities by using the Rx Check application.

Fundamental Components:

An Aetna DUR pharmacist reviews a significant number of cases daily as presented in the Rx Check application. This position requires good clinical pharmacy skills, efficient decision making and critical thinking abilities, and the willingness to work in a team environment.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

In-depth knowledge and experience in prescription drug products, therapeutic drug classifications, and drug-drug interactions. MINIMUM Bachelors in Pharmacy required and 3 years experience in retail, managed care, or hospital pharmacy. Current unrestricted state license required.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Pharmacy/Registered Pharmacist (RPh) is desired

The Clinical Business Unit provides a stable but challenging work environment. There is frequent telephone medical provider interaction and limited patient/member interaction. Exceptional candidates will be included in the task of creating future upgrades and program enhancements for the Rx Check application.
