About this job
Assists the patient with the activities of daily living, i.e. bathing, feeding ambulating, surgical preps, etc.
Ensures the patient has easy access to supplies needed to maintain personal hygiene, i.e. Kleenex, toothbrush, toothpaste and washcloth before meals.
Provides safe and timely transport of patients as assigned.
Able to function effectively under the direction of the nurse in an emergency patient care situation.
Demonstrates appropriate documentation and interventions regarding the use of restrains per hospital policy.
Demonstrates the ability to accurately take and record vital signs.
Demonstrates competency in the use of equipment.
Able to perform to policy on safety and the fall prevention programs.
Demonstrates ability to collect, measure and record specimens.
Demonstrates appropriate recognition of change in patient's condition and/or behavior and notifies RN immediately.
Demonstrates the appropriate and safe use of patient care equipment, i.e. gurneys, ortho devices, wheelchairs, etc.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
Basic nursing care terminology and functions.
Telephone skills.
Ability to accurately collect and record patient data as directed
Six (6) months CNA experience preferred SNF or Acute facility.
Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program.
Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant certificate
BLS Certification through AHA
