The mission of the hospital is to care, to educate and to innovate. Food Service is a shared service for both Stanford Hospital and the adjacent Lucile Packard Children's Hospital which has 235 beds.
Sodexo manages food service, environmental services, and express services with 42 onsite managers that oversee more than 570 frontline employees and support a strong culture of developing future leaders and promoting from within.

Sodexo currently has a job available for a Food Service Manager 3 to join our healthcare Food Service team at Stanford Health Care. This position will report directly to the Senior Area General Manager and will be responsible for assisting with the production food service operations in the back of the house at this outstanding account.
Job Responsibilities include:
Direct oversight of up to 15 employees. Oversight and management of the food service production in the back of the house for retail, patient feeding and catering. Applies Sodexo policies/procedures and ensures compliance with production standards. Assists in training employees and oversees quality of production. Implements quick operational and/or process changes to positively impact Sodexo and client objectives for Food Services. Ensures high level customer satisfaction and high quality food service experience. Must meet (or exceed) Sodexo standards of operations. Creates a positive environment and successfully trains, motivates and manages a team. Responsible to ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards. Management level experience in a food service environment. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that would include daytime shift work as well as evening shift work to support management team. Work history demonstrating kitchen production or culinary experience preferably in healthcare. Experience in working in a union environment. Ability to lead, direct and train employees. Ability to analyze processes, problem solve and ensure efficiency and effectiveness in food service production. Ability to multitask and proven effectiveness in a fast paced healthcare environment. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Experience in developing strong customer relationships and a passion for a high level of customer service. Excellent computer skills Strong attention to company policy, standards, and regulations. Knowledgeable in compliance to food safety (HACCP), sanitation and overall workplace safety standards. Ability to work in a collaborative environment. ** This is a temporary position that will last up to 12 months, and will provide great exposure to the opportunity that exists at Sodexo!

Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
